Geomantic OmenGeomantic Omen, also known as Fungshui, is a significant part in Chinese men's life and culture. It is based on the famous ancient Chinese book, <The Book of Changes>(《易经》).
Because Chinese people consider graveyards as the place their ancestors rested after they passed away or in their after lives, typical ideal locations as civilian graveyards would be situated at the foot of a hill and beside a stream or river, which maintain the spatial balance and are quiet and peaceful. For emperors, the ideal locations should be situated in the places which are considered as the “Dragon Vein” (e.g., the location for the Ming Tombs in rural Beijing) so that their rule will last eternally. |
